Avaxim 160IU Injection protects against Hepatitis A, which is a serious liver disease caused by the hepatitis A virus (HAV). It spreads from person to person via contact with contaminated food or water. It is safe and effective and given as 2 shots, 6 months apart. Both shots are needed for long-term protection.
Avaxim 160IU Injection is given as an injection by a doctor or nurse. This vaccination is done in children at the age of 12 months through 15 years. The best way to prevent hepatitis A is through vaccination. To get the full benefit of the hepatitis A vaccine, more than one shot is needed.
