Baidyanath (Jhansi) Kapardak Bhasma is an ayurvedic formulation obtained by calcinating cowries, a carbonate of calcium. It has antacid, alterative, diuretic, anti-diarrheic, digestive and expectorant properties. It may help reduce indigestion, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, peptic ulcer, sprue syndrome, intestinal tuberculosis, cataract, otorrhea, enlarged spleen, liver, asthma and cough.
